Review on πŸš— Husky Liners Weatherbeater Front & 2nd Seat Floor Mats for 2004-2009 Toyota Prius, in Black by Jon Garcia

The picture is deceptive!

Although these rugs probably deserve four or five stars I have deducted two because the picture is completely misleading. I compared them to the WeatherTech floor mats and liked that they had a cutout for the fuel tank lever on the driver's side floor. I wasn't too pleased that there wasn't a hole for the latches on the driver's side, but the bump would at least give the floor mats more traction to keep them from shifting. I was wrong on both counts. The cutout pictured above is missing, and if you want to access the fuel filler door, the manufacturer has a sheet that tells you to either crawl under the mat or cut a hole in the mat. I bought these specifically for Weathertech because they show they will fit the Prius fuel outlet, but now I have to cut a hole! Not a big deal, but a pity nonetheless. The tabs where the retaining clips were are also missing from the product I received. The same sheet mentioned above tells you to pull the retaining clips all the way out! I'm a little surprised this is going to fly after the "unintentional acceleration" debacle a few years ago. These clips are there for a reason and I'm disappointed that I had to pull them out. Yes, I took out the clips and kept the mats. Despite the above points, they appear to be a well made product that protects the car better than any comparable floor mat. I just want the picture to reflect reality!

Pros
  • Great value for money
Cons
  • Big and chunky
