Review on Crocs Unisex Classic Citrus Green by Jerry Olson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm done with Crocs - size and materials have gone down, low price

their expanded product lines (Crocbands - hopelessly terrible; LiteRiders - more stylish but poorly ventilated) convinced me to only buy classics after all their odd looks (slightly out of place for indoor shoes) and ridiculous prices (those are plastic shoes, for heaven's sake). I just bought a pair of Citrus Classics to complement my existing pair and now I know that even the Classics have degraded to the point of THEY not being worth it anymore. Wow. The color is a minor complaint but worth mentioning. In the pictures, Citrus mostly appears to be a less bright yellow than Lemon, but what appeared was a much MORE bright yellow-green (a slightly lighter Euclid Truck green, if you want to find that yardstick). I suppose tolerable for this purpose. Hardly bearable changes in the classic Crocs sneakers. The shoes are now nominally the same size, slightly smaller than the ones I got 5 years ago (they were slightly larger than the perfect fit for me, these are just big enough) and the (un)famous 'Croslite' material definitely feels different. - they feel a little warmer. Perhaps the ventilation isn't as effective due to the slightly smaller size, but I don't think that explains it. Bottom line, Crocs takes a casual approach to branding and workmanship. After winning court cases to limit competition with something "too similar," they became complacent in their sheltered niche, lowering quality while charging prices that would be unsustainable in a well-functioning market. There was no good reason for that, and I won't put up with it any longer. I'll look at similar/fake clogs to try at Revain Wardrobe and see if anyone even tries to break into this market with a decent product.
