Straight to the point: it's darker and much bigger. But if you're trying to light the edge of the beam 120 feet higher for your rigger to find, the smaller beam isn't a feature. The form factor is enough to make this tool pretty much useless for a rigger. Our belts are crowded and quite heavy and I have a feeling I could fit maybe 3 cheaper lasers in the space of one of these new Pls. Considering they're darker than the old ones, there's no longer any incentive to buy PLS through Bosch or other cheap stuff. Please pls: reverse engineer this monster. I think you've gone from a laser that riggers use as a status symbol to a practically useless one. This is a failure.
