**Update/Warning** After using this product for a few months it started to corrode sheet glass surfaces. To make matters worse, this area is difficult to clean, so food residue (from being left in the sink) collects and stays there. Corrosion also occurs in places where nuts are tightened. horror. What really made me decline is that this thing is DANGEROUS. The corners of the rolled "mesh" sheet of steel wrapped around the glass are bent just a little more than where the handle is welded. Also, these edges are INCOMPLETE. A lesson I learned when I was cleaning this press one day and cut my finger on one of the indicated edges. ************************* Does the job but not worth the 9 euros I paid for it. It's ridiculous to assume the list price is $26.95. $6.95 would be about right for this thing. I'm used to Bodums so this skinny bucket should be in the dollar store for me. The cap and butt are loose due to the nuts used as fasteners on both the mesh butt and top handle. .The lid is made of plastic, the glass cannot be removed. If at the same time you need something for an office or a hostel, then this thing will not be stolen. It does its job reasonably well too, so you get what you pay for.
