Review on 🚲 Allen Sports Hitch Racks for 2-Inch Hitch - 4-Bike Capacity by Mike Goodwin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Long Term Test: Case & Holder

According to Revane we bought this Allen bike rack almost 3 years ago (16th July 2015) and I thought I should finally write a review about it. Check out my photos to see how well it is aging and holding up with constant sun exposure and very heavy use. We leave the bike rack on all year round and rarely take it off. You can see that the red handle has finally succumbed to the sun and has recently broken off a piece, but other than that it hasn't affected function in the slightest. When the weather is nice, we ride our bikes 1-3 times a week. The tilt function is used constantly to access the SUV's hatch to load groceries, gear, etc. We even use this bike carrier during the snow season in combination with the Yakima ski/board carrier (see picture). Everything is holding up quite well, all in all! My thoughts on the bike rack design: I love the simplicity of this bike rack. I actually like that it doesn't have those seat tube stabilizers as they only ever got in the way when I removed and installed my bikes with previous racks. If you want to prevent your bikes from swaying when your car brakes and accelerates, simply leave the bungee cord in the car and use it to attach your bikes to the luggage rack after you've buckled up your bikes. Light. If there are any downsides, I'd say that the upper swingarm (the U-arm that the bike rests on) has a bit of play in the down position, so you can hear it jingle a bit from the brake light when accelerating. Price, that's a simple 5 star rating from me. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
