I work in a doctor's office where two scanners are often needed. The Fujitsu Fi series is the gold standard for relatively small footprint, speed and reliability. However, the Fi series scanners are very expensive and customers are asking for alternatives. I've implemented several Ambir scanners over the past year and am very happy with the results so far. While I can't speak to long-term reliability yet, they're fast, efficient, and work well with every EMR provider I've tried them with. The main disadvantage of this scanner is that it takes up more space and is bulky. . Given that it's about half the price of a similar Fujitsu, however, it seems worth giving up a few inches more desk space.
