I've used a lot of indoor cameras over the last 5 years. Most recently, I committed myself to the extensive Ring system for 2 years in the extensive Alexa ecosystem. Overall, I was pleased but also eager to bring everything under the Apple HomeKit umbrella and into the Apple ecosystem, especially given Apple's implementation of Apple's secure HomeKit video. After extensive research, I decided on Aqara cameras. I'm glad I did. Cameras are easy to install in Apple HomeKit. Literally less than a minute after connection. The Aqara app seamlessly simplifies camera integration with Apple HomeKit and the ecosystem. While you can install it directly into HomeKit, I recommend using the app to ensure your firmware updates smoothly. The application does not require registration and the functionality of the cameras does not (as far as I know) depend on external servers. Camera quality is amazing, audio doesn't work, talkback works, and each camera doubles as a motion sensor. not only for the camera, but also for triggering other automations in HomeKit. I was seriously impressed. I did not expect this. This camera currently represents the only smart solution for secure HomeKit video in the Apple ecosystem. I am sure that the field will expand towards the end of the year and after the announcement of iOS15. However, after installing 5 such cameras, if you are an Apple person, this is what you need.
