Updated Review - CCTV

10/30/20 Since the review is below I have updated the firmware and uninstalled the Aquara app. I removed them from HomeKit and reinstalled them as a new camera. Since then it only works with HomeKit. Bought to use with HomeKit Secure Video. Worked for a few days, then the records are not played back. I also got 5 or 6 notifications in 2 seconds when I ran in front of it. 1 is all I need. Not sure if iCloud not playing recordings is an Apple or Camera issue, but it doesn't work either way. I…

One of the best (Apple HomeKit) cameras I've ever used

I've used a lot of indoor cameras over the last 5 years. Most recently, I committed myself to the extensive Ring system for 2 years in the extensive Alexa ecosystem. Overall, I was pleased but also eager to bring everything under the Apple HomeKit umbrella and into the Apple ecosystem, especially given Apple's implementation of Apple's secure HomeKit video. After extensive research, I decided on Aqara cameras. I'm glad I did. Cameras are easy to install in Apple HomeKit. Literally less than a…

Best value for money

This rating is based on first reactions as I have just bought it. But it's worth mentioning. I bought these because the price is ⅓ the price of other HSV cameras. It replaced the Logi Circle 2, which cost almost $200 and gave up the ghost after a year and a half of use, and the company said the warranty was out and there was nothing they could do (hardware failure on their part). So I would never give them my business again. First Impression: - FAST SETUP. The big advantage of this camera for…

If you want a homekit camera this is probably the one

I really like this camera. Build quality is very similar to the Wyze camera, except the Aqara costs about 2.5 times as much. Letting go is the hardest thing for me. Wyze cameras are so much cheaper that I'm having a hard time falling completely in love with this camera. What makes this camera great is that it works so well with Homekit. I converted my Wyze cameras to RTSP and via Homebridge and the plugin can use them with Homekit but it still lacks the features you get from Aqara. Watching…

So far - a good alternative to Wyze

I've installed about 7-8 Wyze cameras around the house over the past few years, this is clearly aimed at people like me who want a 'cheap' camera, but they did what they couldn't do wyze, integrated with Apple HomeKit. For this reason alone, I see myself switching all my Wyze cameras to this brand. I have experience with a few other Aqara products and so far have really enjoyed them. I've only used this camera with HomeKit so I can't tell you how the Aqara app is, but it seems to connect just…

Works for Homekit Secure Video and aqara hub

It's hard to tell if the bugs are related to this product or HKSV restrictions. I've always preferred wired cameras, but these days that's not an option for a home kit. The Wi-Fi camcorder works perfectly. My placement outside the window, at an angle, isn't a very good premise for checking the quality of the video. But even with these limitations, the video is enough to see the person at the door. The selectable motion sensor zones are really a Home Kit feature, but it works well with this…
