Thing works great! I have a 60 gallon reef tank that had a cyano burst. I managed to pump out the sandy pillow and pinch the soft drainage tube; Control the suction power to only suck up red slime and dirt, not a lot of sand. I stuck the end of the drain hose into the filter sock and placed the sock in the pan. I vacuumed for 15 minutes and dumped all the filtered water back into the system. The water in my tank cleared up nicely and I didn't have to worry about replacing all the water or overfilling the bucket. A long, hard siphon tube prevented me from getting into the tank. My only suggestion for improvement is to add 2 feet of length to the drain pipe.
