This large drawer fits easily in my sister's lab for moderate periods of time and is very convenient for medium sized dogs for longer periods of time. I actually use it for my big "adventure cat" when I'm camping, traveling or visiting my mom's house. It's big enough to fit a large litter box and has enough resting space and space for water and food for the cat. The box is sturdy and seems to hold up well to my cat's trimmed claws. If your dog (or cat) is constantly scratching, I wouldn't expect the mesh to last very long. It's not as light as I expected, but it folds up easier than I thought it would and comes in a carry case with a shoulder strap, so I think that makes up for it a bit. The only reason this large box doesn't get 5 stars is because the zippers don't have a way to fasten them together and don't have a protective fabric section behind them. This may not bother dogs or cats who aren't very smart, but my cat, like a kitten, has figured out how to push the zippers apart with his nose to get away. So I have to find some small staples to thread through the zipper pullers to secure them, or sew sections of fabric behind the zipper on one side so he doesn't open the zipper with his nose.
