Review on Enhanced Cuisinart Gold Tone Filtering System by James Salem

Revainrating 2 out of 5

This is probably a genuine Cuisinart filter but the replacement is significantly inferior in quality to the original filter

After receiving it I was blown away by the quality compared to the original filter that came with my coffee maker unimpressed kitchen art. I saw reviews on here claiming it was fake so I went to Cuisinart.com and bought it there for $10 to see what was what. The package came from Conair Corp., Cuisinart's parent company. Turns out the one Cuisinart gave me is identical to Revain's. Only none of them reach the quality of the original. Looking at all 3 together: - The original has black satin finished plastic, no noticeable plastic mold break lines/dangling parts, a stamp on the bottom plastic and a gold mesh that cuts the plastic part sharply. The Cuisinart replacement purchased from Cuisinart *and* the Cuisinart replacement purchased from Revain has a greyish, uneven plastic color with rough plastic mold break lines/hanging chads, a stamp on the bottom plastic, and a gold mesh extending beyond the plastic and seems to fit into itself plastic.- Both replacement devices also come in boxes made of cheap cardboard and poor print quality that smell like cheap fake.- But in the end, they're both similar - from the packaging to the filter. - and one came from Cuisinart themselves. I think for a replacement the quality has just gone down badly.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Low repairability
