I get that because we all have wood floors (except the bathrooms which are tiled). I've used this as a dry rag and it works great for that. It collects dust and hair from the ground and doesn't disperse it through the air like a regular broom. For this type of cleaning - excellent. But if you have kids spilling Cheerios on the floor, you need a regular broom. It's not good for these kinds of jobs (sweeping real things). Also, I would have preferred the edges of the rubber to be more durable. I find it bends too much. We have stairs and I can't sweep this mop between the railings unless I bend down and run it over the railing and I'm not going to get on the floor to do it. A regular broom does this just fine. But if you want it to be an addition to a broom, it's really good for dusting the floor.
