This helped a lot on the trail of the Dixie Fire smoke plume here in California. I have found that no matter what filter I used, my house actually leaks too much for a household filter fan to help! More bad air is sucked in than filtered out, which is why room air filters were needed. It has also helped identify various leaks in my house. The fireplace, air conditioner vents, dryer vent, and bathroom let in enough bad air that my filters couldn't hold. The battery also proved to be a lot more useful than I expected. In fact, in addition to circulating air, I had to wear an N95 mask in the car, as it turned out in our conditions. The numbers were certainly good enough to make practical decisions and track whether air quality suddenly deteriorated. Grateful for such a simple tool on fires.
