Zapper works! The first night he killed 27 blind people in my house. In my opinion, large T-8 bulbs attract more bugs than low-light blue bulbs. High voltage is essential and will kill even these tiny insects. The other internal zapper didn't work very well (the round black plastic case). When it kills insects, a strong "popping" is heard. It was designed to kill insects; Doesn't act as a night light (although) it does the job very well too. I give 5 stars for the noise level because I know that when there is a "clap" the device is working as expected. You also get 2 spare bulbs which are pretty easy to replace. Because this equipment uses HIGH VOLTAGE, you must follow the (paper) instructions displayed on top of the equipment to replace the light bulbs. DISCONNECT THE DEVICE BEFORE PERFORMING THE PROCEDURE. One thing they don't tell you is that if the lamp light is "pulsing" (swirling), you can switch the pins (left side to right connector and right side to left connector) to stop the pulsing. This also happens with conventional fluorescent lamps used for lighting. Comes with a chain for hanging. NOTE: LIKE ALL THIS APPLIANCE, DO NOT LET THIS APPLIANCE WHERE CHILDREN CANNOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PUT FINGERS INTO THIS APPLIANCE OR INSERT METAL OBJECTS INSIDE IT (NOT TOYS).
