I have not used this cleaver but would like to share a few comments. My first impression was Wow! It has some weight.!. (and it wasn't even out of the box). The production is impeccable and flawless. except that it needs a little sharpening. It was already very sharp right out of the box, but the edge was a little crooked and I could feel some ridges. A few minutes of sharpening and buffing with the included tool and it can split the proverbial hair by simply holding it in the air and dropping it onto the blade. very good. I'm looking forward to cooking tonight. The sharpening/honing tool is very effective. I'm so glad it was a reasonable price. I've wanted/needed a decent kitchen knife for a long time. The plush plastic blade sheath is a nice touch. and I appreciated that even the box was of high quality and well presented.
