I ordered this because we had just installed a side door with a window and needed a window covering that could both let light in and raise to allow the window to be opened for ventilation. This article seemed to fit the bill. HOWEVER, the steering knuckle of the steering rod went freely into the mounts with the magnets attached. The manufacturer supplies a third magnet with two thin pads and instructions for installing this magnet just behind the top rail tensioning mechanism (probably to add additional magnetic tension). It didn't help. I followed the instructions and with a slow, simple movement to release the blinds from their open position, the railings ripped off the door. I've tried this with the blinds fully extended, trying to pull up slowly with the same result. The magnets just aren't strong enough. Also, the magnets scratched the door on both sides, so now I need to touch up the door. door, it probably won't work for you. I am returning it and am looking for a slightly higher quality product.
