Review on ๐Ÿšฒ High Mileage, Waterproof Brooks England Cambium All Weather Bike Seat - Carved/Standard Bicycle Saddle (C15, C17, C19) by Nathan Skipper

Narrow, tough, looks modern and colorful. Not for me.

I bought this to replace my Brooks B17. The B17 is great and has always been comfortable even on 60 mile rides without suede. However, after riding over 100 miles, I developed numbness that made me worry about crotch pressure, so I looked for a replacement with a cut-out. I wanted to ride the Cambium because I like the design of the B17, but I prefer a non-leather saddle. Weatherproof because cheaper and supposedly more durable than the standard cambium, so why not? And C15 instead of C17 because sometimes B17 felt too wide and Brooks recommend C15 for my 45ยฐ back angle. When I received the all-weather C15c I was shocked at how modern it looked. Although constructed in the same way as classic Brooks saddles with a stretched surface stretched over the frame, aesthetically it looks like it belongs on a modern carbon road bike and is a bit at odds with my bike. The nylon rubber surface also proved to be grippier than I expected. . I prefer a smoother surface that won't snag or wrinkle my pants. When I took it with me on trips, it was comfortable at first (after adjusting the position correctly). But toward the end of the ride, I could feel the wedge pulling my sit bones apart. Finally, I jumped out of the saddle to get some relief. This saddle is too narrow for me. I personally didn't like the C15c. The saddle is good, but didn't fit me. If you can ride a narrower saddle and like a more modern aesthetic, this could be the one for you. I replaced it with the all-weather C17c, which is more like the B17 I'm familiar with. Its cotton surface is smoother and goes much better with the classic aesthetic of my bike.
