I have an 18" round Booda dome and these extra large liners really help keep the tray clean. I didn't buy earplugs before and disinfected and cleaned the box every week which was really annoying. Then every year I replaced the box and started all over again. I have switched to using earplugs and can easily remove the earplugs from the packaging and place them in a large bin liner for disposal. I have two cats that have claws that aren't aggressive diggers so they don't ruin the liner or rip holes. If you have cats that dig aggressively with their claws, these liners may be too thin. The inserts aren't thick plastic, but they easily cover the entire pan. However, if you have an 18" round pan, you will need to purchase a large/extra large size. I used to buy large earbuds and had trouble getting them to fit. All in all, they definitely help make changing the box much easier when there is nominal leakage. I would just prepare a plastic garbage bag to put the dirty garbage bag in to transport it to the bin.
