As a curmudgeon, I was hesitant to spend $100 on an electric grinder when my $20 hand grinder was doing a great job (or so I thought). But I was tired of grinding for five minutes every morning just to wake up a little and was willing to pull the trigger on a $30 Krups coffee grinder, but I spent the money and I'll tell you why i'm glad i did it. You won't find anything cheaper than this automatic cone mill. Cheaper grinders advertised as "burr grinders" are most likely disc grinders. The difference in grind quality between everyday filter coffee makers is a matter of debate. There's no question that you should ever use a knife grinder to brew coffee or not: you shouldn't. respect the game Let's get back to the actual debate. Less expensive disk mills have had questionable reviews, whether for reliability, consistency, or ease of use. I'm almost as anti-disc as cheap, and in the end, in the sub-$100 segment, the problems reported with cheap disc sanders got me firmly in the taper camp. I chose this grinder because the steel body promised to reduce static electricity, reducing clutter and making mornings easier; it has options for timed grinding, which saves me the time I spend maintaining the machine; he coarsely grinds a French press into Turkish coffee and everything in between; and it doesn't look like it's straight out of 1995. Also, it was developed in Italy, and Italy is good at making coffee. I have used this machine several times. Not only does my coffee now take less time to brew, but the quality of my coffee has improved significantly thanks to the ability to grind finer and more evenly. I went from grinding for 5 minutes to make a fairly bitter, inconsistent coffee to 30 seconds to make a smooth, delicious coffee. I feel like I've mistreated my beans so far. Static is a minor issue as only a few bases cling to the reception area. This is easily solved with an espresso brush, which you should have anyway to clean the grinder from dust. they must, i.e. a 10 second grind should yield 5 tablespoons at setting 7, but can be half that. I really appreciate the range of grinds. Most grinders I've researched can make espresso in a French press, but the Turkish grind setting is great for the three times I've tried it. For domestic use only." Requires 30 minutes of rest for every 5 minutes of continuous use.
