So-so, but better than nothing.

Firstly I only use this for sound output so I can't comment on microphone use. Also, I don't personalize my audio settings, so the lack of bass adjustment that others have mentioned didn't bother me. I only bought it because my laptop's audio jack stopped working, so this little device allows me to use my headphones again while watching videos and listening to audiobooks and music from my computer. Look closely at the images in the listing itself as well as the shared images. other reviewers to see if it blocks other ports on your device, as its body protrudes well beyond the connector itself on both sides, top, and bottom. It blocked ports both ways I tried - connecting directly to the computer and connecting to a hub - but it worked well enough for me in both cases. However, it "crashes" every time the streaming is interrupted either during buffering or such an audio jump. The audio output itself switches back to the speakers (the same thing happens on my desktop, so it's definitely this adapter and not the device), switches back and forth a few times each time there's a break or delay, and again when playback occurs is continued. As long as I'm hearing something uninterrupted by external noise, it works well enough to allow me to use my headphones again. On first viewing, the sound takes a few seconds to reach the headphones and the static stops, which is why I miss it. some dialogue or a few bars of music. To be honest I'm not sure if these (software) glitches are related to the fact that I'm using it with WIN10, that I'm using it with wireless headphones or if it's normal for the adapter itself.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
