I have a Sony Zeiss 16-80 (SAL1680Z) lens which I bought in 2009. terrible "creeping zoom". You can google "Lens Creep on the SAL-1680Z" for details and suggested solutions. The problem is how to fix it. You can find a place you *could* tighten the zoom ring for about $100 and you'll be lensless during the fix. Or you can use a much cheaper option that's at least as effective in a lens strap. The lens strap does the $8 job that many repair shops fight for a lot more. It's easy to attach to the camera and even easier to use. Definitely worth the money and definitely effective.
