Pretty good measuring tool. The benefit of a big wheel (actually bigger compared to similar tools with smaller wheels) is that it negotiates rough terrain more easily, not just hard flat surfaces. A mechanical (analogue) meter versus a digital one means no extra features/options, but also doesn't require batteries - a plus in my books! 4 stars for its overall quality which is not bad but doesn't deserve 5 stars. The "footrest" is not very good. Not sure how long that will take. The extension rod/handle works very well. I particularly like that the wheel is made of hard and durable polystyrene - there's no rubber rim to fear wear and tear. The analog gauge actually measures to a fraction of a foot and appears to be fairly accurate, unlike some gauge wheels with magnetic sensors that only count the number of wheel revolutions. The meter and case are not of the highest quality - I would say it is average in construction and material, like most meter wheels. No weatherproof housing information can be found on the product website. Unlike some other companies' products, Komelon seems to specialize in measuring tools, which gives me a little more confidence. Because the wheel is much larger than most, it is heavier on the underside than smaller gauge wheels. The stick and grip appear to be a bit smaller in terms of control and maneuverability than, for example, the Keson MP401E, which appears to be better built but costs twice as much. Komelon has another product that is almost identical to this one except it is in metric units. The buyer must pay attention and be careful when placing an order so as not to buy the wrong product. The first unit I received was metric, not imperial (feet), but that was a packaging error from Komelon. Revain quickly replaced it with a proper order. For the price, I think this product deserves 4 stars. A stronger stand and kickstand would have earned it 5 stars. Nevertheless, a very useful and recommendable tool.
