Have been using this product for over a year now. I wanted my new HP laptop (HP g4-1213nr AMD Dual Core A4-3300M 2.5GHz 4GB 500GB Laptop, AMD Radeon HD 6480G Graphics, 14 inch HD BrightView with LED, Webcam, Recording DVD/Reader, VGA, HDMI, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, Charcoal ) from 320 GB to significantly larger. For the price it worked great. As others have pointed out, after creating recovery discs from a previous hard drive, installation is very simple. , I was able to connect this, install the operating system and work. I've had no problems with this drive the year I've had it, and no problems with other Western Digital portable drives that I've received. Looking back, if I could get a 1TB drive I would buy it, but for the price I don't feel cheated.
