Compared to Target's All in Motion line or Walmart's Russell line, this product is much better and still holds up well for our 9 year old son playing soccer on a cold morning. It didn't shrink or crack much, despite heavy wear and tear hitting the turf during practice games. According to the size chart our son is 9 years old and we ordered a medium size based on the chart and reviews and I would say maybe if you have a little skinny boy under 70lbs you are more inclined to size small.
