Many good reviews only relate to one type of scratching post. The negative reviews, including this one, are for the two tier hammock type. I was so looking forward to it because I have a second cat in my family. Having assembled ALL types of furniture, bikes, sneakers, etc., it's safe to say I know how to put things together. Believe it or not, this was the first item I received that simply failed to assemble. It's hard to explain without a visual explanation, but basically most screws are attached to parts. In theory, you should be able to screw one part into another. However, since most of the parts are connected in TWO places, it is impossible to connect them. I'll try to explain it verbally: you have a part that needs to be screwed in one direction, and due to the connection of other parts it is necessary to screw the connecting part in the other direction - which is IMPOSSIBLE. Right, left, free people! Great design for small to medium sized cats but really impossible to assemble. For all my time, frustration and sweat, this company owes me money!
