From the Owner: This is a large soft vinyl mat that relieves pain from standing in one place for a long time. The edges, especially the yellow ones on the long sides, are beveled (at an angle to the floor) so that you don't trip over the carpet when walking back and forth. This is especially important since the rug is almost half an inch thick, so I appreciate it. We were looking for a rubber mat for the kitchen. Although my wife was skeptical about the bright yellow brushed edges, we decided to give it a try. It fit very well in front of the kitchen sink and we loved the padding. However, we have one cat that likes to tug at things and very quickly we started seeing black chunks of foam. We knew the cat would destroy this rug in no time. Also, it turned out that my wife didn't like the bright yellow stripes. I took the rug to my garage where it looks even more appropriate in front of my desk. No more cat damage and the light edges help me recognize the mat when stepping on it. I really like it and we'll be looking at the Bertech line of something with fewer streaks and a more durable matte finish. Kitchen recommended.
