Review on 🌑️ Zoo Med (2 Pack) Analog Dual Thermometer and Humidity Gauge - Affordable Economy Option by James Nedumaran

Stopped working after about 2 weeks

I bought these specifically to control the humidity in my ball python tank. They seemed to work for the first two weeks I had them. The other day I noticed that the humidity readings on both sensors are low. I attached one to each end because I know the humidity will drop a little faster on my hot side. So I started mixing the water with the substrate to restore moisture. The next morning I clearly saw condensation on the bottom of the tank where the substrate is, but the hygrometer on the hot side read 30% humidity. On the other side is 40%. Remember that there will be spots of condensation anywhere in the tank along the glass where the substrate makes contact. Based on my past experience and how the tank looks when the humidity is good, the humidity can't be that low. I put another hygrometer in there for about an hour and it read about 62% on the cold side while this one read 40%. I'll just take a chance and assume the needles will stick or something. My only consolation is that I spent about $12 on two of them instead of the same amount on one at the pet store. I like analog gauges in general because they don't cause interference, but they're not that great.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure
