These fasteners hold firmly in place and are actually too heavy for low strength fabric materials (may tear fabric if loosened). These snaps are similar to those found on high school football jackets. I also used these heavy-duty Dritz #5-3 snap-on pliers on the same .060" thick stock. the clothing. Again, the directions for these bars were poor. These snaps require more adjustments to the pliers, more time to get the job done. These latches hold the same as #981-1 latches, but take longer to craft. I will be using the #981-1 bars as the preferred model.
