Review on πŸ“š Efficient Digital Filing Made Easy: NeatReceipts Mobile Scanner and Filing System for Mac by Caleb Olsen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pretty good "Document-in-a-Box " system for beginners

(Product: NeatReceipts mobile scanner for Mac with software update 3.5. fast. Earlier than expected which was great I had on Some weekend time to play around with the scanner and here's my first reaction to using the hardware, software and "living" with it over the past two days.(Hopefully I'll update this review in the future, this is a Product that I have my sights on for a long time but now that I finally got it my first recommendation is if you think you need to digitize your life, you probably know it. Don't hesitate like me and then try Mixing boxes with boxes with papers isn't fun, but at least it makes sense.) Packing and unpacking: the box is nice and easy to open, easy to read etc. like some gear only are overloaded with small print - most of which is repeated in the magazine anyway. The set contains a scanner, a USB AB cable (mini), a starter booklet. which includes a calibration card, a dry cleaning sheet and a wet cleaning cloth (in a pouch, single use), an installation CD and a PDF program CD (the PDF program came without documentation, but it installs and won't work under OSX 10.6), I think it's time to upgrade). Hardware: The scanner is lighter than it looks - it has a nice slim body. ild with high-quality equipment. A simple green LED next to the PDF and Scan buttons (and one not too bright LED) lets you know when it's on and ready to scan, and blinks to scan. The two rubber feet on the bottom keep the device on the surface it stands on. You can touch the scanner's feed rollers - they pick up flimsy receipts quite well and help smooth out creases during scanning (I've tried some fairly crumpled gas station receipts and was impressed that the scanned image was readable and OCR was still able to even the Die most faded receipts were at least visually readable, although OCR could not read faded blue ink on white paper. An end with sheets smaller than a standard letter-size sheet (served portrait) and can accept a sheet if you want to send A standard color sheet is scanned for 3 seconds and then OCR kicks in (while you can scan more pages) which could be fixed with a little bit of filing technique.Software: That's the essence of this kit.I would buy Auto-feed, duplex Scan if all I wanted to create tons of PDFs with my documents but the software some smart information n should extract when I perform OCR on these pages. I haven't mastered software in the last two days and I'll admit I think it shouldn't be that hard (I design buildings with 3D software so I'm not stupid when it comes to software, my best one-line version of it This software is "iTunes for PDF Storage" It seems that they used iTunes as a model for the program and from there the folders in the left column like the "Playlists" window of iTunes with filenames and Details are how you would view the songs and the preview window is exactly the same as the preview window for individual songs/album art in iTunes so either way it feels like the previous delivery method and used the standard folder types and form fields and so far only basic ones Information Extracted So the software has standard tax form data fields where you can selectively extract information ii that may apply to specific tax forms (vo n which you can later export to turbo tax etc.). I did a run with a one-page pdf import, which was good for a phone (probably need to convert photo > import pdf). When I know more I'll post!
