Not very successful

With all the activity this year I've been trying to order Hanukkah candles later than usual. As I no longer live where there is a regular Judaica store I use the online store but this time I didn't find the answer to the saved link from back then. Tried a google search, no bones. So I went back to Revain which has proven in the past to offer an amazing variety of items for online ordering/delivery. Well, it was only partially successful. I discovered that Revain had candles and made an appointment for delivery a few days before the holidays. I ordered them. They arrived late - just in time for the third day of an 8 day holiday, slightly later than the confirmation email saying a package was expected. I immediately opened the package and loaded them into my menorah. Immediately discovered several problems. Despite what the website said, they weren't airtight and also varied so much in thickness at the base that some didn't stay in the menorah holders and others were very tight. The manufacturer must hire a quality control officer. One fell from a flaming menorah that could start a fire. It is true that menorahs have been made for at least a thousand years (not sure when the holiday began to be celebrated) and it may not be possible to standardize candles or candles. Settings for menorahs. However, buyers need a better fit. I remember much smaller candles growing up, but back then you could put a little wax in the sockets to hold them, even if they were very loose. These candles had some kind of coating on the outside that kept the wax from dripping off their bases, so I used duct tape to artificially thicken the bases. It's also likely a fire hazard. Next year I will buy something else.
