Review on Dorman 924 207 Strut Tower Repair by Keith Samuel

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Several working photos.

Strut cover installed on a 2000 Chrysler Voyager. This vehicle required very little modification to the strut. A corner was sanded about a quarter of an inch. The top holes had to be lengthened to allow the rack bolts to be inserted. The underside of the cover is painted and will need sanding to apply the board adhesive. After this was done and the holes lengthened, this was for the lid. Installation requires removal of wiper assembly and battery. Also unclip the fuse box and let it rotate to the side. I was concerned about a 16 year old cable connection failure. I did not remove the hood. It seemed like there was only one rivet available for all that extra work, and it wasn't worth the time to remove the hood. The photos show rust removal and sanding. I dry mounted the panel with the 2 screws included in the kit. As you can see, due to the size of the gun, a rivet or two didn't fit in properly. But they are firmly attached to the metal. The last photo is after the paint job that came with the Bend Pak Lift I bought. As I have no plans to keep this van I am happy with this product. As mentioned in other reviews, paint sanding is a pain. It would be better if this block wasn't painted at all. In addition, it is a durable steel cover. I think having holes instead of an open design adds strength to support the posts. In addition, the frame must be removed for this repair. Many Thanks.
