French Press with Straw

The JoGo Portable Coffee Straw is an item I never knew I needed, but I'm glad I took the risk to buy it. I'm a big coffee and tea drinker so this niche product is perfect for me. I had my doubts about how well this would work, but my first cup of tea dispelled them all. For coffee, I simply pour 2 heaping tablespoons of medium ground coffee into a mug. Add hot water, stir and let steep for 4-5 minutes. Add cream and/or sweetener and start drinking! Coffee has the strong taste and aroma of a French Press without using a French Press. I thought some bases might pass but the filter works great and doesn't clog. I can see fine sediment when I hit the ground, but no real coffee grounds. Cleaning consists of rinsing my mug and washing the JoGo, which is quick and easy, and disassembly is a breeze. This product is perfect for me when I've finished my morning cup of coffee and need another cup and don't want to brew another one. Flavor is head and shoulders better than Kcups and most instants. The form factor also makes it ideal for travel. I like this product and therefore 5 stars. It works and seems built to last. I must, however, play devil's advocate and mention small quibbles. You must be willing to drink coffee from a straw for this product to work for you. It may seem insignificant, but I imagine some people would rather sip or sip their coffee than swallow it. It also can't pump out all the coffee from the bottom of the cup, but I get most of it. Finally, this coffee brewing method doesn't remove potentially harmful by-products (diterpenes and acrylamide) like a paper filter does, so be aware that drinking such coffee regularly can have some adverse long-term effects. My wife says that a cup of tea made by JoGo reminds her of coffee in European cafes. This would make a great gift for that discerning coffee/tea lover you know. I look forward to trying loose leaf tea soon. court
