Made of plastic like the other colours. The listing I saw said the silver colored version was metal as opposed to the other colors which said plastic. This made me buy it but it turned out to be a lie. The very first cork I pulled out after getting this opener was a bit stiff. I felt like I was about to break the opener's plastic handle/loop when I pulled on this stopper. I've been using the old screwpull opener for a long time, which was much stronger than this one. To my knowledge, La Cruesette bought out Screwpull and destroyed the quality of that brand. That's why I tried this brand of Rabbit. I am very disappointed in this purchase. I'll switch to my trusty old waiter's knife and leave the thing to my wife, who probably/hopefully doesn't have enough shoulder strength to break it.
