Review on 🐶 Enhanced Comfort and Control: Mayerzon Dog Prong Collar with Comfort Tips - Stainless Steel Choke Pinch Dog Chain Collar, 5-Inch by Darlene Blair

Revainrating 2 out of 5

I wish the studs weren't so long. otherwise ok. It works. Once in a while.

I fitted the plastic caps to our 8 month old Rottweiler pup's points and collar. He is a bull headed pup and can often pull me where he wants to go. He broke free, reached the end of the leash, and stopped quickly as the collar put a little pressure on his neck as he moved. I can walk with one finger without holding onto it with all my strength. I wish the prongs were shorter as its fur is short, the long prongs keep the chain an inch from its fur and it looks like a shiny metal thing around its neck. Even with chromed metal, it would be better if it was black. Addendum: So the collar failed twice during walks. It just falls apart leaving the dog without a collar. So much for reliability and safety. Of course you can glue the two pieces together and move on. But don't expect perfection! The quick adjustment of this collar is the biggest weak point. At the moment I never use this collar to keep our rottweiler in check. When he reaches the end of the leash this collar will break and then your dog will be free and uncontrollable. Of course he should know he shouldn't, but to be safe, attach the leash to another collar as well as a choke chain so you have a safety net. As difficult as it is to attach the collar, you might think it will stick together. At this point I would not recommend this collar unless you really need it. too unreliable.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
