I did an informal five potato weight test. I chose potatoes for their density, which means firmness. In each image I keep the number of potatoes in the previous image. Because you can't see the whole potato vertically. I overloaded each spider to get a "real" strength test. I don't have a scale to measure the weight of potatoes. I chose one large, one medium and three small. As you can see, they are very strong. I doubt you'll exceed the weight of a potato. Since I overloaded every spider. I also tried twisting the spider and couldn't unscrew it. I recommend these spiders for their strength and durability. Because they are so easy to clean, I wouldn't put them in the dishwasher, although you can. I like to keep my stuff looking new for as long as possible. I don't want to risk the finish tarnishing over time. I just got my scale and the potato weighs exactly 2 pounds. I seriously doubt you'll go over 2lbs with normal use.
