I won't lie, it's a beautiful thing in the kitchen because it's not plastic. I think the screws could be at least 1/4 shorter, but they still work fine. It can have a large pressing surface for large batches, but is still ideal for a block. It's easy to clean and I dampen the wood with some oil because apparently it helps prevent splitting? Yes, it smells like bamboo, but after washing it's less noticeable. Either way, it will probably make a good gift for someone who eats tofu often.
