Review on Karcher FC 5 Cordless Hard Floor Cleaner: Ultimate Full Size Cleaning Power in Vibrant Yellow by Lisa Varela

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Lightweight and works very well especially on smooth floors

I've been using this for a month now and I love how easy it is to use. This keeps the floor dry enough to fully dry in about 10 minutes and does a phenomenal cleaning job. The included casters are great for smooth floors (tile with even grout or wood), but don't work as well on uneven floors (rough slate or dented grout lines on tile). They sell a "stone" roller set that works much better. The wheels are color coded for the right side, but that's the only tricky part of the setup. The base not only allows you to pre-wet the rollers (saving a mixed floor cleaning solution) but also run a cleaning cycle when you're done. I can use this for a week and then wash the rollers more thoroughly while the clean and dirty water containers are completely dry. CONS: 1) There is an angle to hold this mop and it works well. The plastic housing catches too high or too low. It's a bit of a high angle for my 5ft 5in height and it would be annoying if I was 6ft because of having to bend down. potential problem down the road 3) May drip a little when you lay it down when cleaning and removing rollers, but much less than Bissell PROS: 1) Much lighter than similar units. Full of water I would estimate it's around 12 lbs which eases the shoulders 2) Does a great job of cleaning whether I vacuum first or not. With three cats and three people, there is a lot of hair and cobwebs on the stone floor, which the vacuum cleaner can easily deal with. A seam ripper is not required to remove hair that has wrapped around the rollers, but fluff is sometimes thrown off. A quick cleaning cycle at the base ensures the rollers are fully cleaned 3) Can do two sets of clean water on one charge Depending on how many things you need to move, it will easily clean about 1500 square feet. Energy per water fill, or approximately 2,500 square feet per charge. 4) You can leave the cleaning solution for the next cleaning cycle. Dirty water is easy to clean and rinse out, but I'm glad I can save the cleaning water for next use.
