I bought this cable to increase the transmission distance from my webcam to my computer. This cable meets (or slightly exceeds) the physical length limit for USB signal transmission, the signal from the camera "scratches" and the image is blurry and stable. I gave this cable 4 stars because it is well made, durable and carries a signal. But there are clear limits to the quality of that signal when it arrives at the computer. A webcam plugged directly into the USB 3 port works great; If this cable is used to extend this connection, the signal will be significantly degraded. My suggestion is that if you have to walk ten feet or so between your USB device and your computer, get a signal amplifying system or a more heavily shielded (and obviously more expensive) cable!
