So far I've used vampire blood, crayons, paints, glitter and everything works as it should. This went on all night (4 hours for me and my 4 year old daughter). The only downside is the vampire blood I got wasn't the same as the picture, it had a screw top and a wide big hole so it was harder to get the vampire drops to the side of my mouth than if i got the one pictured here if i had a pointed tip it would be easier but i got it working anyway and next time i use the blood pods and cut off the tip to see if it's easier would work. costs money.
