I installed a cheap set of dampers and springs and found that they hit very hard. It was the wrong caster angle that was pushing the impact force onto the frame, not the damper. With a crowbar and punch, it's a bit of a hassle to align the bolts, but if you install one side at a time, the second fits like a dream.
