In many ways this could be the perfect electric fireplace insert; The logs look real and glow realistically, the coal seam under the logs also looks very realistic, the flame is perfect and looks like a real fire. The logs are very reflective and destroy the overall effect. look at my photo This is a real killer. Closing the chimney screen made no difference. As I said, the remote control is useless. The chimney sensor is located on the lower right leg. Pointing the remote directly at this area (within 1 inch) will ignore most button presses. This results in having to use the buttons on the lower right leg to turn on the fireplace, which is not an ideal configuration. The photos of this fireplace on Revain are very deceptive as you can see the reflective screen is photoshopped from the image (it looks like a gray speck. I wish it looked like that but it doesn't). For $450, I highly recommend considering other options.
