Review on ⚡ Triplett High Performance Digital Multimeter - 2000 Count for AC/DC Voltage, Current, Resistance, Continuity, Diode Test, Temperature, Frequency, and Capacitance (9007-A) by Mardrequs Dorsey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very solid gauge with excellent grip

PROS: Housing: Thick ABS plastic. I feel like it can take a lot of abuse. Display: Although small, the display is very clear with good contrast. 3 and 3/4 digits are more than typical for an inexpensive gauge. (This is a measure of resolution. Most multimeters in this compact form factor and price range are limited to 3 1/2 digits.) Features: In addition to the usual measurements, capacitance (albeit over a small range), frequency (a few Hz to 10 kHz) and duty cycle. It also automatically selects the scope of all functions. Firmware/Control: The layout is simple and straightforward. Nothing stands out as disturbing or unusual. Support: I had a few questions about the Frequency and Duty Cycle features. My emails were answered within 24 hours by an experienced product designer who not only knew the product but also ran tests on my specific problem to find answers. Yes I was shocked. I feel like this should have been an accident, and yet it actually happened! CONS: There are some quirks with frequency and duty cycle. I finally found out that the minimum voltage that can be tested is only 5Vp-p. So you can't use these functions in your 3.3VDC circuits. Also, the leads need to be changed from what I expected; for DC the red wire must be connected to ground. The frequency measurements were accurate; however, the duty cycle appears to be less accurate. Under different test conditions, I was able to achieve a constant offset between 0 and 2%; This is probably most useful for comparing apples to apples, but it seems consistent with the duty cycle accuracy of inexpensive counters from other brands. Calibration: Voltage between 1-20 volts is read as a bit. I fixed it by opening it up and adjusting the top panel. The resistance readings matched my other gauges. SUMMARY: Rugged little pocket multimeter with all the standard features and more, backed by the company that backs their product.
