I've tried slicing thawed round eyes, slightly frostbitten round eyes, raw potatoes, oranges and a block of cheese. I couldn't get consistent section thickness with any of them. Most disappointing was beef because I bought a slicer specifically for jerky. In addition to the uneven thickness of the slices, the machine would have sliced through most of the meat but gripped the trailing edge and wedged it between the underside of the blade and the base of the body. I had to stop the blade after every attempt to cut and scrape the flesh from under the blade. The device had difficulty slicing raw potatoes. The cheese and orange block worked well, but it wasn't worth the hassle of getting the machine out, setting it up, and then cleaning it. The main issue with this machine is that the back panel is thin and flimsy. It moves away from the blade as you push the food closer to it, so you end up with a slice that starts the right width but ends up thicker than it started. It also causes him to grab and pull unfrozen meat, forcing it under the blade. Everything I tried was an exercise in frustration. I will also add that the metal body of the slicer is not what you would expect. It's thin and looks pretty cheap. On the other hand, the engine *seemed* to be decently powerful. I may be wrong about this. I returned it because I have a strict no ownership policy that makes me want to set it on fire and throw it out the window.
