He cuts. That's it

The power and speed is what I've come to expect from a small food slicer. I had a ten year old folding cutter that worked just as well, if not better. I tried to cut the unfrozen ham the same way I did my folding cut. The serrated blade cut through the ham but also left some dust/chunks of ham but still cut it. Worst of all is the thickness of the backing/panel. It flexes/flexes a bit so your slices are the specified thickness at the bottom and about 1/16 inch more at the top. I've tried to…

Brilliant and worthwhile

I have used this to cut perfectly trimmed roast beef. I used to use a different slicer at my parents' house. This machine seems much more durable and much easier to clean. Also, with my parents, you always have to keep your finger on the button to work and then don't have a free hand to pick up the pieces of meat. This device has an emergency on/off switch so that it cannot be switched on accidentally. Once turned on, the blade will continue to rotate until you turn it off. I think this machine

Save money and time! Makes amazing cold cuts for parties!

To say I saved time and money would be an understatement. I bought the regular meat we love in bulk which is cheaper, spent the night cutting and cooking the meat. The instructions say 5 minutes to cut, 15 to rest to keep the motor from overheating. Ideal! I can do it! I set a slicer timer for 5 minutes and then another timer for 15 minutes to place the sliced meat in containers, layer and separate with wax paper and containerize them according to my intended use. Fragile back plate = uneven cutting thickness. Jerky was a joke. RETURNED.

I've tried slicing thawed round eyes, slightly frostbitten round eyes, raw potatoes, oranges and a block of cheese. I couldn't get consistent section thickness with any of them. Most disappointing was beef because I bought a slicer specifically for jerky. In addition to the uneven thickness of the slices, the machine would have sliced through most of the meat but gripped the trailing edge and wedged it between the underside of the blade and the base of the body.
