I have used this to cut perfectly trimmed roast beef. I used to use a different slicer at my parents' house. This machine seems much more durable and much easier to clean. Also, with my parents, you always have to keep your finger on the button to work and then don't have a free hand to pick up the pieces of meat. This device has an emergency on/off switch so that it cannot be switched on accidentally. Once turned on, the blade will continue to rotate until you turn it off. I think this machine is much better in many ways as the machine works and you don't have to focus on how hard you have to hold the power button. This means you can focus on slicing meat, as long as you use the push stand to meat you keep your hands and fingers a safe distance from the blade. The adjustable dial clearly shows the thickness in mm so you know the exact thickness of your slices. There are cheaper machines on the market but you get what you pay for. The main body of the blades is made of stainless steel, making it durable and easy to clean. I am very impressed and happy with its performance and definitely worth paying for.
