Wanted to share my thoughts as a 10 year old user of siphon "gravel wash" Python products. The functionality of the product is great, I can't think of any other *design* to clean the bottom of an aquarium and in that sense a five star product is good. Here I have to note the quality of the materials. I had an older Python kit - one with a long hose and connection to a sink kit that allowed the siphon to be run with a faucet. I abandoned this detail a long time ago, since it is easy to start the siphon when the tank is on a stand, like ours. However, the green plastic piece - at the top of the clear tube where the hose connects - ripped and fell apart, fell apart - within 10 days of purchase. 10 days! We live on the Southern California coast and it hasn't been hot here, device hasn't been left in direct sunlight, etc. I already disposed of the packaging a long time ago or would try to return it for a refund. Python - SHAME YOURSELF for using such an inferior material, casting/manufacturing process, or both to create a truly inferior product. I'm serious! I would give this zero stars and return it if I could but I threw away the packaging again as it arrived intact and appeared to be in good condition when opened.
