Stupid fast sucker!

I finally replaced my old flimsy vacuum hose with this beast. Luckily I have a 50 liter tank. This will suck up pretty much anything, although it will leave your gravel behind. Unlike my old one where I just causally moved it around the tank to get to different spots, this one requires you to target the area ahead of time and keep an eye on your 5 gallon bucket. It fills the bucket in about 2 minutes. If you have 20 gallons or less, don't buy this. If you have a 50 like mine with bits of moss…

Great for the siphon of our 10 gallon tropical aquarium.

Ideal for the siphon of our 10 gallon tropical aquarium as well as our 10 gallon frog aquarium. I was surprised that the wide part of the siphon was so long. Personally, I'd prefer it to be about half the length to make it easier to maneuver, but that's all well and good. The narrow tube makes it easy to suck up all debris from rocks and gravel without pulling out too much water at once. (I guess what I'm trying to say is that since the water is slower in the tube, you can pick up more "junk"…

Great for 75 gallons

Great for 75 gallons. The suction is just right, not too fast but powerful enough to really clean my tank. Since I use mine, I attached a plastic garden hose bib to the end of the siphon hose and attached it to the garden hose. With the other end of the garden hose still attached to the faucet, I turn on the faucet, which causes water to flow into the tank. Then, without turning off the water, I unscrew the water hose, creating a suction in the siphon. After complete separation, the water will…

Not bad, but there's a learning curve

There's definitely a learning curve. I am a first time betta owner and am trying to do the right thing with my small fish. I have a 4 liter tank. And this is just for me. I confess that I wrote this review earlier and wanted to give it fewer stars, but that may actually be user error. I watched two videos where someone uses this particular siphon and someone uses an enlarged version. I will say that the technique I used in the video I posted is the best for this particular siphon. There are…

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Wanted to share my thoughts as a 10 year old user of siphon "gravel wash" Python products. The functionality of the product is great, I can't think of any other *design* to clean the bottom of an aquarium and in that sense a five star product is good. Here I have to note the quality of the materials. I had an older Python kit - one with a long hose and connection to a sink kit that allowed the siphon to be run with a faucet. I abandoned this detail a long time ago, since it is easy to start the
