It's quarantined. You need a webcam. Dericam is a great option to consider. I use a Macbook Pro and usually just the built in webcam, but after quarantine I switched to an external monitor setup so I needed an external webcam. This webcam basically worked plug and play on both Windows 10 and Mac OS Catalina. On Windows, I had to go into Device Manager and disable the Macbook's internal webcam to force it to switch to the default webcam, but other than that it was recognized immediately and required no drivers or settings to get it working. The mounting clip is 9.55 mm high. So if your monitor's bezel is thinner, it may only slightly cover the edge of the screen. The inside of the clip is completely covered with a rubber layer, so you don't have to worry about damaging your monitor. My monitor has a large curved bulge on the back that prevents it from snapping into place, so I just left it on top. However, it stays fairly firmly on the monitor and doesn't fall or wobble unless I somehow hit it directly. The webcam lights up when active, but it also includes a separate privacy cover for peace of mind, which is a nice touch. . Peel and stick backing. Image quality is excellent! It is much better than Macbook's built-in camera. I didn't turn on the face camera, but if you're using it for video calls, the focus is much better at a typical 3ft seat distance. As confirmed, the webcam records up to 1080p 30fps. As far as I can tell, image quality is best in slightly darker conditions. If the lighting is sufficiently uniform in brighter environments and there is no glare, excellent quality is maintained. You get a fisheye as you approach the edges of the image, but where your face is, the focus isn't distorted. The microphone is decent in terms of voice quality, although it can have some trouble picking up your voice. as it sits entirely on top of your monitor. While there is some noise reduction, it doesn't completely eliminate the background. All in all, this is a great webcam at a great price. It's exactly what I needed and has excellent picture quality.
