This is my second. I gave my first one to my son-in-law, who doesn't have a drill. Soon after, I found I needed it again. I have ordered a second one for myself. It does not replace the power drill and can drill in places that the power drill cannot reach. On the other hand, this isn't a flimsy tool that will break just by touching it. Take good care of him and he can drill large holes ranging from 45° to 90° and maintain the angle while drilling. When I need specific angles, I use a protractor or combination gauge to set the angle. Holds the angle well when drilling. I don't use it often, but when I need it, it works fine. One thing that affects drilling is how sharp the bits are. I keep my drills sharp. I also used Forstner bits. I have a cheap set of Forstner tips and I'm having a hard time keeping the base from rocking. I bought a set of good quality Forstner bits at a higher price and the base doesn't wobble when drilling. Thing is, this tool works well with sharp bits that don't need to be "forced" to make a hole. But that goes without saying with every drilling operation.
