I have short hair no longer than 4 inches and this tool works great. But you need to know 2 things: 1) The temperature reading is in Celsius, so its number is lower but actually hotter. 2) If you hold the tool over the buttons and read the display, you will not affect the settings while using the tool. It only takes about 5 or 6 seconds to curl your hair. There is no combustion. I love how easy it is. Some tools are so difficult and tedious to use, but not this one. I am delighted with this tool and you will be glad you bought it.
